Meet Pastor Bearden and His Wife

  Pastor Robert C. Bearden, IIIPastor Robert C. Bearden, III, son of Louise Bearden and one of seven children, is a native of Birmingham, AL and a product of the Titusville community. He and his wife, Teal, who is a native Californian, have been married for over 30 years. Reverend Bearden is the Pastor of The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Zion City, located in the Roebuck area.He completed his high school studies and received his diploma from West End High School in Birmingham, AL, attended Troy State University, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ministry from the Birmingham Easonian Baptist Bible College in May 1996, after which he began pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Counseling from the Birmingham Theological Seminary and Beeson School of Divinity. In addition, he served his country in a four-year tour of duty as a soldier in the United States Army. Called by God in 1986, Pastor Bearden was gifted to preach and teach the Word. His gifts and talents for preaching, teaching, and lecturing have taken him to schools, churches, and conferences across the United States and other countries. His love for God is evident to all who meet him. Pastor Bearden has a particular love of the youth of the Church and strives to insure that they are prepared for the future by supporting them in all areas, including school and activities, but most of all, in acquiring the knowledge of Christ in their lives. Pastor Bearden has served as Assistant Pastor of the Household of God Bibleway Church in Lynwood, CA; Assistant Pastor to the late Dr. N.H. Smith of New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL; and Assistant to Reverend Dr. Darryl Lee of Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Gate City, AL. He enjoys family and friends, but most assuredly, Pastor Bearden is a sports enthusiast who enjoys all facets of the sports arena. However, he is a golf enthusiast, using the “greens” to relax and to contemplate as his favorite pastime. His phrase for life is, “Every day is a good day when you know the Lord.” |  Lady Teal J. BeardenOur Pastor’s wife is a loving, giving, and serving person who has a special calling to give comfort and aid to the sick, shut-in, and those in need. With a smile and a hug, she brings joy to those whom she ministers to and to the congregation as a whole.She is an encourager, but not only does she encourage others, she’s a “hands-on” type person who will assist in any way she can to help get the job done. She is the wind beneath our Pastor’s wings, his loyal and loving wife, friend, and confidante, and the epitome of the virtuous woman.
